The Santee River
Basin and Coastal Drainages ground-water quality investigation was designed
to provide information on the occurrence and distribution of a large suite
of chemicals and compounds. These data will be used to assess ground-water
quality at several scales. Three sub-unit surveys address ground-water
quality for the broadest range of constituents at a regional scale in
a water-supply aquifer. Land-use studies examine the relationship between
a particular land use and water quality in the shallow ground-water system.
The flow-path study tracks changes in water chemistry as ground water
moves from a recharge area, through the shallow system, to a discharge
area in a stream. Data are available for six study components:
