Surface-Water Information and Data
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) network in South Carolina provides real-time water-stage, streamflow and precipitation data at over 170 stations across the state. These stations record data on 15-minute intervals and transmit the data via satellite to the National Water Information System (NWIS) database. From that database, the data are made publicly available on the USGS NWISWeb (https://waterdata.usgs.gov/sc/nwis/rt). All data from active stations as well as historical datasets are available.
Data from these stations are used in various applications including:
Instantaneous Data Archive (IDA)
USGS National resources
