The Santee River Basin and Coastal Drainages groundwater quality investigation was designed to provide information on the occurrence and distribution of a large suite of chemicals and compounds. These data will be used to assess groundwater quality at several scales. Three sub-unit surveys address groundwater quality for the broadest range of constituents at a regional scale in a water-supply aquifer. Land-use studies examine the relationship between a particular land use and water quality in the shallow groundwater system. The flow-path study tracks changes in water chemistry as groundwater moves from a recharge area, through the shallow system, to a discharge area in a stream.
